Victoria Falls (Zambia) and Botswana

Hello everyone, I am in Maun, Botswana, and this morning Pablo e' partito per Cape Town e poi Bali. Anche questa settimana e' stata molto intensa, da Windhoek io e Pablo siamo andati in Zambia a vedere le cascate Vittoria (nome indigeno Mosi-oa-tunya: il fumo che tuona) poi in Botswana al Chobe National Park e qui nell' Okavango Delta. Inutile dire che sono tutti posti spettacolari.
Le cascate Vittoria si trovano vicino a Livingstone, dal nome dell'esploratore scozzese che fu il primo a raggiungere queste zone e che e' famoso, piu che per le sue scoperte, per la frase: "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" con cui esordi', con piena pomposita' di formalismo inglese, il capo della spedizione inviata a cercarlo quando finalmente in un villaggio intravide un uomo alto bianco e occhi azzurri in mezzo a tanti men blacks.
The falls are 1.7 km wide (shared between Zambia and Zimbabwe), 108 meters high and spit a million liters per second. There 's a parallel path in front of the waterfall just a few hundred meters is already' after a while you find yourself completely drenched by the splashing water, and at times' like being in the middle of a tropical storm. Then we went to Botswana in a small town called Kasane on the border and from there ', we visited with a boat trip to the Chobe National Park, named after the River. There were especially hippos, water or eating grass on islands in the river and crocodiles, birds and many beautiful waterfront monkeys and antelopes.
And finally, the Okavango Delta which is formed by this river that can not find the sea. We visit with a traditional canoe, the mokoro, and pass through small paths in the water between grass and reeds. Sometimes the paths are wide right just as the canoe, sometimes a bit 'more' big. Every now and then you end up in small ponds sprouting here and there 'the noses of hippos and rimmergono breathe. In reality ' gli animali piu' pericolosi sono proprio loro! Gli attacchi mortali di questo non certo magro quadrupede superano di gran lunga quelli dei piu' "rinomati" leoni, coccodrilli ecc... Il fatto e' che sono molto imprevedibili, quasi sempre pigri e calmi, a volte gli vengono i 5 minuti e sono cavoli amari.
